Since 1993, Designtorget has offered a carefully curated range of design products from both established brands and independent designers.

With 10 stores across Sweden and a growing e-commerce business, they needed a smarter and more flexible packaging setup that could adapt as the assortment evolves, without compromising efficiency.

Need: a smarter packaging setup for a dynamic product range

In 2025, Designtorget reviewed its packaging solutions. The existing setup was not flexible enough for a constantly changing product range. Large purchases and stockholding of specific formats created inefficiencies and a risk of overstock.

What they needed was a smarter approach. A setup shaped by their dynamic product range and the demands it places on the packing flow. Flexible and able to adapt over time, scale with demand, and maintain control without locking them into fixed structures. And that is also sustainable and locally produced.

Solution: A smarter setup with an optimized assortment

Working closely with the Designtorget team, Boxon reviewed the existing setup and packing flow in detail. Through analysis and close, hands-on collaboration with warehouse staff, a simpler, more adaptable structure was developed; one that works in practice, not just on paper.

The solution includes:

 a carefully defined range of standard boxes covering variation across the assortment 
two customised boxes for specific needs 
the Gemai wrap n’ go packaging machine, automatically adjusting each package to its contents and reducing unnecessary space

The result is an intelligent level of standardisation: a system in which each component has a clear role and contributes to a more efficient whole.
