Another exciting year comes to an end. The pandemic continues to have a firm grip on our lives. Still, we've experienced and accomplished quite a bit. Here we tell you what happened at Boxon in 2021 and what we're most looking forward to in 2022.

February 2021 - The Boxon Group gets a new CEO in Christer Rapp. He previously worked with great success at Windoor/Sunparadise for the Scandinavian region. "With his high level of competence and many years of experience in leading and developing companies, Christer has the right profile to make Boxon the most innovative business partner in the packaging industry," said our current Chairman of the Board Anders Yllfors on Christer's appointment as CEO.

March 2021 - A little girl named Olga, who loves to package the things she cares about so that they are best protected, enters the scene. Our first Image Film was so successful that we could already release the sequel in January.

May 2021 - The German subsidiary - Boxon GmbH - receives the #PackTheFuture Award for the rPET Big Bag. The FIBC is made from 96% recycled PET bottles, all of which are collected in Indonesia and processed into the Big Bag. The actual award ceremony was scheduled for 2020, but was digitally held in June 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

June 2021 - Boxon launches Customer Segment Teams to look at and reassess the needs of our different customer segments from different angles. Already, it's safe to say that we've learned a lot of new things and are incorporating our newfound insights into our daily work. 

September 2021 - Boxon's LM (Less Material) Box was awarded the Scan Star Award 2021. The judges highlighted that the box was "designed in an interesting way that minimizes waste in every part of production by adjusting its size and construction."

October 2021 - Expanding our digital offering. Boxon is constantly working to keep the world as simple as possible for our customers. That's why, since October, you can view and download your invoices online in your customer account, get an overview of your billing and shipping addresses, view an overview of contacts associated with your organization, and benefit from a simplified checkout. 

December 2021 - Boxon makes a Christmas donation to UNICEF to support their work with children in need. 

And what will follow in 2022?

We are already looking forward to the coming year, because:

• Boxon will be 90 years old. A real reason to celebrate.
  
  
• ECOVADIS assessment of the entire group. Germany has gone ahead, now the group follows. As soon as we receive the result of our evaluation, we will inform you.
  
  
• Hiring a Chief Sustainability Officer. Sustainability is at the top of our agenda, and we are now strengthening ourselves in this area with a senior position.
  
  
• Encouraging innovation. We are proud to have 12 packaging engineers and 2 packaging designers in our company. In 2022, we will focus even more on taking the next step in innovation.
