From the used PET-bottle to the finished Big Bag
Plastic waste is collected and delivered to one of the several collection points in Indonesia. After delivery to the processing site, all steps, from cleaning and sorting to the production of the Big Bags, take place in the same facility. After the bottles have been sorted by color, they are first spun dry and the first dirt particles are removed. The bottles and lids are automatically separated from each other. The sorted bottles are then crushed to produce PET flakes. These are washed again with hot water and processed into ribbons, which are then used to produce Big Bags.
For 1 kg of woven recycled PET, around 25 1.5 l bottles are processed. An average big bag of 2 kg manufactured this way consists of around 50 PET bottles. A big bag contains a total of 96% R-PET, only 4% of the material used comes from additives. Since PET begins to melt only at 250 degrees, the R-PET Big Bags are particularly suitable for filling hot substances.
A climate-friendly solution
By reusing PET for big bag production, marine pollution is prevented and the FIBC's carbon footprint is kept low. Overall, the R-PET Big Bags have several positive effects on the environment:

- Less use of resources
- Up to 25% less CO2 emissions
- PET can be recycled and reprocessed several times without any loss of properties
All the steps from sorting and cleaning the bottles through processing to the production of big bags take place in the same system: This means short distances that eliminate the need for repeated transport and additional packaging.
